My story
Shungu Patsika
In Shona, shungu is the will, the inner heat that will not go quiet. I grew up in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. I had come first every year at school until a car accident took that path and my confidence with it. For the next twenty years, I lived with that loss. I left university. I came back and finished. I married and moved to Melbourne, Australia. We had two children. After the marriage ended, I was back to the beginning, including a season of couch-surfing.
After the divorce, I moved closer to the beach. I met my fiancée not long after. For sixteen years, I worked in financial counselling and did it well. Then my soul made it clear that the work had to change. The shapes of Abundance Mastery and Mission Gateway formed in that season. In December 2025, I left the job and stepped into them, spurred by the inner journey I had been on. That journey led to successful investments and connections that opened the door for me to live the life of freedom I had always craved, which is now my reality.
Joining Hope Ignite was foundational to my recovery. It is the local house I stand with, a church of grace rather than fear, and a church that cares for people. The coaching and the gospel support grew from the same life.
If this feels aligned, you are welcome to get in touch. I would be glad to connect.
